Very sad, I have not read her but recall her receiving a medal from Pres. Obama. She was well respected and enjoyed by many. RIP.
Ah! She made such an impression on me as a girl. My first read by her was The Bluest Eyes and I still have her book on my shelf.
when I said medal I had brain fade, I meant Nobel Prize duh!

Yes she was. She will be missed, but never forgotten. She’s made her mark on this world profoundly.
